Important Dates

Last date for receipt of duly completed applications for M.S./Ph.D. programme is 20 April 2015.
Last date for receipt of duly completed applications for Int. Ph.D. programme is   20 April 2015.



 The list of short listed candidates and other announcements regarding admission will be uploaded on www.jncasr.ac.in/admit

website periodically.

  •  JNCASR written test  for Int. Ph.D Materials Science will be held in JNCASR(Bangalore only) on 25 May 2015.
  •  Interviews for shortlisted candidates for the Int. Ph.D Materials Science programme will be held on 26 and 27 May 2015





Integrated Ph.D (Int.Ph.D) Programmes 
JNCASR invites applications for admission to the Integrated (Int.) Ph.D. programmes in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Sciences. The Int. Ph.D programme in Materials Science is jointly offered by Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit(CPMU) and Theoretical Sciences Unit(TSU). The Int. Ph.D programme in Chemical Science is offered by the New Chemistry Unit. The Int. Ph.D Programme in Biological Sciences is offered in Molecular Biology and Genetics by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit.
For all the above Int. Ph.D. programmes, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Candidates appearing for the final examination this year can also apply.

M.S(Engg.)/ M.S.(Research)
Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply. They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF / ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/JEST / INSPIRE or any other equivalent national level examination. The certificate of such test should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1 August 2015

Ph.D
Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply; the specific requirements for each Unit are listed below.  They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF/ ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/JEST / INSPIRE or any other equivalent national level examination. The certificate of such test should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1 August 2015.  Generally ME/M.Tech students are required to qualify one of the exams mentioned above, however exceptional candidates without these exams may also be considered.

However, for receiving the application form by post, you may write to the address mentioned below with a self-addressed envelope of 16 x 25 cms with stamps of Rs 15/-. The filled in application may be sent to the same address so as to reach before the last dates mentioned below:
